Need Help Getting Data off Apple II Floppies

Hi there, new to this tribe, I need some technical help:

I have two floppies:

One 4.24 Apple II data disk
One 3.5 Apple IIGS data disk

They both contain lots of old but cherished Appleworks documents, plus possibly more. I wish to get all this stuff safely and successfully off these old floppies, then convert them to some format that MS Word can open.

Any Apple tech-heads here able to help?

I'm Jerry Kindall, formerly of Kitchen Sink Software, Quality Computers, and "II Alive" magazine. My first Apple II was a IIc, which I souped up with a RocketChip, a UniDisk 3.5, and a 1 MB AE Ramworks card. I'm the author of the Microdot utility software and various freeware and shareware. I was a sysop in GEnie's Apple II forum. These days I use Windows machines for work, Macs for pleasure, and live in Seattle.
